Building OsvvmLibraries.pro (OSVVM version 2024.11a) with Xcelium 24.03-s001 passes successfully with no errors. However, when building RunDemoTests.pro, I get 1 passing test (TbUart_SendGet1) and 10 failing tests (all the others). All failing tests timeout.

I am working on a Red Hat Linux server and using Xcelium simulator. The OSVVM scripting docs indicates that I should initialize the
tcl
environment using the
rlwrap
utility. What is the purpose of
rlwrap
? Can I use OSVVM scripting without requiring
rlwrap
? What functionality would I miss out on if my (initial) attempt at using OSVVM…[Read more]

Hi Jim,

Just checking in regarding OSVVM and Xcelium. It looks like Cadence has released Xcelium version 22.09. According to their documentation, they did not bump up the version of the OSVVM utility library (still references tag 2022.01).

Can you provide any update(s) with regards to your testing progress with Xcelium? Any sense of how close…[Read more]

Hi Jim,

Thanks again for everything you do! I am just following up regarding full OSVVM support in Xcelium. Xcelium 22.03 was just released. It includes support for VHDL-2019 conditional analysis (pleasant surprise!) along with additional support of VHDL-2008 language features/constructs. OSVVM 2022.01 is pre-packaged, but I believe it is…[Read more]

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the update! I am now using Xcelium 21.03.007, and the documentation for this version says that OSVVM (utility library only) with tag 2020.12 is pre-packaged. Previously, the documentation referenced tag 2018.04. Also, back in January of this year, I got in contact with a rep at Cadence regarding plans to support all parts of…[Read more]

Hi everyone,

It is my understanding that OSVVM release 2018.4 is pre-packaged with Cadence Xcelium version 20.03. Does anyone know if/when newer/latest release(s) will be pre-packaged with Xcelium?
